Fiza Gilani, descendant of Yousaf Raza Gilani, may compete the by-elections for her father’s chair NA-151 Multan after his ineligibility.
As per the sources, the last decision concerning Fiza competing the election has not been decided yet, but the subject is under deliberation. Gilani has two other sons, Qadir Gilani who is an MPA from Rahim Yar Khan and Ali Musa Gilani who was also freshly chosen as an MNA on Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s place.
The NA-151 seat was absent unoccupied after the Supreme Court debarred Gilani from the position of prime minister on Tuesday. He is not entitled to challenge elections for five years.
Sikandar Bosan, also contention for the seat, had a shift in his loyalty from Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), and the second has determined to refuse the by-elections. However, Bosan said that he will not depart the electorate unfilled and whichever he or his brother will challenge the elections on the seat.
