
A passionate, determined, enthusiastic soldier with very good traits. A man with a very distinct personality. He had special ability and love for Calligraphy, fine arts, music, Poetry and Dress designing. Quite an impressive and colorful character indeed.
Captain Rashid Hakeem was very humble kind and was friendly with his subordinates, and had has had the tendency to take the initiative. Capt Rashid has left behind a proud mother, wife, son Muhammad Rashid, and six siblings behind.
Capt Rashid Hakeem took off for a routine training mission at 09:35 in the morning. The day was 8th of April 2010 as his aircraft was reportedly having a major glitch which eventually led to his Shahadat.
Captain Rashid Hakeem Shaheed was from Gilgit. He was recruited in Pak Army in 2002 and cleared out from PMA with Khalid II platoon 109 PMA Long Course. He was being posted to 18 Azad Kashmir Regt (Al Saif).The unit is named in the honor of the Great son of Soul Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed. He was posted in Siachen for about two years with his parent unit and remained on forward most posts for entire duration for extended period of time. He joined with Army Aviation later and got ahead with P-49 course from Army Aviation School. He had the flight time of about 450 hours in two years
